Any project is as important to this practice as it is to the client regardless of location, scale or budget. The practice will advise on all aspects of the project and will participate as much or as little as the client determines. Often projects only require planning or building regulations, however the practice can offer a complete spectrum of design and building services including site supervision if required. Clients are advised on other consultants that may be required such as a Structural Engineer or Party Wall Surveyor. Experience has shown that clients are sometimes concerned that they will not understand a drawing but a quick sketch or model can often help. The practice is often involved with difficult sites requiring lateral and creative thinking such as inner city areas, listed buildings and conservation areas. The project results however will always be client specific regardless of complexity.

Since the practice was established, it has become involved in a wide variety of projects from small domestic alterations to £6K extensions within the education sector.  Barn conversions popular in the 1990’s have featured less in recent years as the stock of convertible barns has diminished, yet the education sector has blossomed as the practice has been seen to provide answers to difficult problems.  Healthcare and community projects have expanded the practice’s portfolio over recent years as clients have seen how the practice, being both architectural and technologically based, can offer a deeper understanding.

Alan C Riley is actively involved in the design and the supervision of each project; working closely with the client and contractor to attain the best results possible. The approach is to get the best out of the space both functionally and aesthetically and, invariably the design will enhance the value of your property or investment.

The practice only undertakes limited advertising and primarily exists through client repeats, referrals and recommendations. The projects on this web-site illustrate the wide range and broad canvas on which the practice works.
