CHARTERED ARCHITECT . CHARTERED ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
GRADE II LISTED RENOVATION & EXTENSION . WOLVEY
The cottage, originally constructed in the early 17th century with subsequent alterations undertaken in the early 18th century, is a Grade II listed building of roughcast timber-framed construction beneath a thatched roof incorporating swept dormers. The principal elevation features a 19th-century plank door positioned at the right-hand corner, with an adjacent window to the left, both set beneath segmental arches. Internally, the structure retains exposed timber framing, reflecting its historic construction.
The property was the subject of an extensive renovation and sensitive extension process, undertaken in close collaboration with the local authority conservation architect. Listed building consent was granted for the addition of a single-storey extension and a two-storey rear extension which were designed to complement and respect the character of the original historic building.
