PROPOSED EXTENSION & ALTERATIONS . COVENTRY BOYS & GIRLS CLUB, COVENTRY
Proposals were developed for a new Centre of Excellence for Coventry Boys and Girls Club in partnership with Coventry City Council and the British Amateur Gymnastics Association. The scheme was intended to incorporate the new National Centre for Rhythmic Gymnastics, providing specialist facilities designed to support elite training and community participation.
Initial sketch designs explored the spatial requirements necessary to accommodate a sprung gymnastics floor and a 90-metre tumble track, ensuring the facility met national competition and training standards. In addition to the gymnastics provision, the wider scheme included a martial arts centre, a Snoezelen sensory room, cafeteria facilities, a boxing gymnasium, and overnight accommodation as part of a comprehensive multi-sport and community-focused development.
The initiative received praise from the local area, politicians and the wider sporting community.
