CHARTERED ARCHITECT . CHARTERED ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
HOUSE EXTENSION . COVENTRY
The clients approached us after seeing our work on another project to request two modest extensions to their home: one to accommodate a study and another to create a dedicated music room. The property features a south-facing façade and an already landscaped garden, which enabled the addition of a further extension in the form of a conservatory linked to the music room.
The existing dwelling was clad in timber boarding; however, the finish was dark and somewhat oppressive in appearance. We therefore recommended the use of lighter, durable timber cladding, which not only enhanced the visual quality of the original structure but also introduced a material that unified the various elements into a single architectural composition. Since the completion of the extensions, similar horizontal cladding has also been applied to the front elevation of the property.
